About Roamgrounds

Real numbers, cross-checked sources, and honest uncertainty where the rules are genuinely still moving — built for people planning an actual move, not a listicle.

Roamgrounds exists because comparing digital nomad visas across Asia-Pacific means digging through immigration portals, embassy pages, and outdated blog posts that haven't been touched since the rules changed. We built this site to put the real numbers — income thresholds, actual fees, current renewal terms — in one place, and to keep it updated as programs like Thailand's DTV, Malaysia's DE Rantau, and the newly-launched Philippines Digital Nomad Visa continue to evolve.

How we research

Every visa, insurance, and eSIM comparison on this site is built from official immigration sources, provider documentation, and current reporting — cross-checked rather than taken from a single source. Where rules are genuinely ambiguous or actively changing (Indonesia's enforcement climate, Japan's renewal terms, tax treatment across jurisdictions), we say so directly instead of smoothing over the uncertainty.

What we're not

Roamgrounds isn't a law firm, tax advisory, or immigration consultancy. Nothing here is legal, tax, or immigration advice — it's orientation to help you ask the right questions before you talk to an official source or licensed advisor. Visa rules vary by nationality and change without much notice, so always confirm current requirements directly with the relevant embassy or immigration portal before making a decision.

How this site makes money

Roamgrounds contains affiliate links to eSIM providers, insurance companies, and other travel-related services. If you sign up through one of these links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to services we've genuinely researched and would recommend regardless of commission — the comparisons themselves aren't influenced by which provider pays more.
